Exam Rules and Recommendations

Read these rules before starting your certification exam. Start only when you are ready to complete the full attempt in a quiet environment, without distractions and without switching to other activities.

Format 40 questions

Answer every question carefully and keep track of your pace from the beginning.

Time limit 60 minutes

The timer starts with the attempt and does not stop until the exam is finished.

Pass score 80% or higher

A passing result is required before DevCerts can issue the certificate.

Retake 1 retake after 7 days

If the first attempt is unsuccessful, one retake becomes available after the cooldown.

Voucher and attempts

Use exam access only when you are ready.

One voucher gives you access to the selected certification exam. That access includes one main attempt and, if the main attempt is unsuccessful, one retake attempt after 7 days.

Step 01

Choose the certification

Review the certification scope first and start the process only for the exam you are ready to take.

Step 02

Start the main attempt

The main attempt has 40 questions, a 60-minute timer, and an 80% passing score.

Step 03

Use the retake if needed

If the first attempt is unsuccessful, the retake is available after 7 days. Use that time to review weak areas and prepare again.

Proctoring

Proctoring monitors the camera and browser activity separately.

During the exam, proctoring is active in two areas. Each area has its own warning counter, and reaching the warning limit can stop the attempt and count it as unsuccessful.

Camera limit: 5

Camera proctoring

The camera must remain enabled throughout the exam. You must stay visible, take the exam independently, and keep external materials away from the workspace.

  • Disappearing from the frame for several seconds.
  • Another person appearing in the frame.
  • Covering the camera with a hand, curtain, slider, or any object.
  • A phone, book, notes, or similar external items appearing nearby.
  • Turning or tilting your head for an extended period.
  • Gaze or head position suggesting use of materials outside the screen.

Reaching 5 camera warnings can stop the exam and mark the attempt as unsuccessful.

Browser limit: 3

Browser activity monitoring

Keep the exam page open and active until the attempt is completed. Do not interact with other tabs, applications, or areas outside the exam page.

  • Closing the exam page.
  • Closing the browser.
  • Switching to another tab.
  • Moving to another application.
  • Clicking outside the exam page.

Reaching 3 browser activity warnings can stop the exam and mark the attempt as unsuccessful.

Before you begin

Enter full-screen mode before starting.

Before starting the exam, strongly consider clicking the Enter Full Screen button on the start screen. Full-screen mode reduces the risk of accidental tab switching, outside clicks, or other browser activity that may be counted as a violation.

Important

The exam cannot be paused.

The timer does not stop for breaks, phone calls, leaving the room, or any other situation. Use the restroom, silence your phone, prepare your workspace, and start only when you can stay focused until the attempt is completed.

Preparation checklist

Prepare the room, device, and connection before you start.

Most avoidable warnings happen because the environment was not ready. Take a few minutes before the exam to reduce that risk.

Room

Choose a quiet place

Let people around you know that they should not approach you during the exam.

Lighting

Make your face clearly visible

Use steady lighting before you start to avoid false camera warnings caused by poor visibility.

Desk

Remove extra items

Keep your phone, books, notes, and unnecessary objects away from the desk and camera view.

Device

Check power and camera

Connect your laptop to power when possible and make sure the camera works before starting.

Connection

Use stable internet

Make sure your internet connection is stable enough for a full uninterrupted exam session.

Focus

Disable notifications

Turn off calls, messengers, desktop notifications, and anything else that may interrupt you.

Time

Set aside one quiet hour

Plan at least one full hour where you can read questions carefully and stay on the exam page until completion.
